The Francis E. Walter Lehigh River Dam Release Schedule includes these dates listed below with sufficient water storage accumulated in the reservoir. (For current river levels: Francis E. Walter Dam – Daily Flow Gauge and Dam Release Info and the Francis E. Walter Dam Website).

2024 Francis E. Walter Lehigh River Dam Release Whitewater Dam Release Dates (24+2**) are listed below. All dates during the recreation season are subject to change according to weather, safety and/or Army Corp. of Engineers decisions in relation to flood control and water storage expectations/needs.

• May: 11, 18, 25-26
• June: 8-9, 22-23
• July: 13-14, 20-21, 27-28 (PEAK Pricing)
• August: 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, 24-25, 31 (PEAK Pricing)
• September: 1
• October: 12-13** (Fall Foliage Pricing)

(**The Oct. 12-13 weekend release is TBD and is intended to provide a means of releasing any excess water that may have accumulated during the recreation season. These MEGA-Releases in the past have been approximately 2000 CFS on Saturday and 1200 CFS on Sunday, and are super fun!)

Pocono Bike Rental’s Whitewater Rafting Partner is Extreme Adventure Travel. They operate with a permit from East Penn Township inside the newly upgraded Riverview Recreation Park and Campground. You will see large shuttle vans near the right side of the parking lot by the new bathrooms. This newly redesigned East Penn Township Riverview Park has a Cool Playground, Disc Golf, Public Boat Launch, Campground and the D&L Bike Trail. It’s located just off of Launch Road at this location:

Recommended items to bring:

• Bottled water and Lunch (sandwiches, snacks, drinks, dry storage ill be provided)
• High SPF sunscreen (the sun reflecting off the water increases sun exposure)
• Water shoes, closed toe or strapped sandals. (NO Flip flops they WILL fall off)
• Bathing suit (worn under shorts and a t shirt)
• In the event of cloudy, rainy and/or cold conditions a windbreaker or rain jacket, fleece and a wool sweater or technical top. Do not wear cotton clothing in cooler weather!
