For 5 students in White Haven, Pennsylvania it is becoming a learning experience and internship program like no other. Tom Williams, owner of Pocono Bike Rental, brought five interns together from all different schools to provide a hands on experience of the real world. Andre Thomas, Nick J. Toro, and Leah Majdic of East Stroudsburg University and Asma Bin laden of Wilkes University and another student from Kings College, have been hired at Pocono Bike Rental for an internship program which will teach them the inner workings of a starting a small business that incorporates physical fitness, fun and experiential family learning into a business model. Showing how being fit can be beneficial in all aspects of life and a low cost method is using the great outdoors. The students will learn a good foundation for life and present a fresh look to the Pocono Bike Rental business.

Whatever the reason is the interns decided to work at Pocono Bike Rental, the internship program will include group bike rides, learning the history of the Lehigh Gorge, and a case study of the health benefits in the area. Different interns will work on different aspect of the business, helping the budding industry of biking in White Haven grow to its fullest potential. Nick, will be helping the business with their video marketing while Leah will work on the rest of the communications for the growing business and Asma Bin laden will create a new logo and branding using her graphic design skills to continue spreading the word out about the business and the area. While all of this is happening, Andre Thomas will be creating a case study of the health benefits in the Lehigh Gorge and beginning guided tours through the area. With projects ranging from Videography on the Lehigh Gorge to measuring the health benefits of exercising along the trails, this truly is an internship experience to remember!
PoconoBikeRental.com’s hours are: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and the interns will be spread out working different shifts throughout the week and weekends helping out in different areas of operations gaining valuable business experience.
