Remember our Jim Thorpe bike rentals are PRE-RESERVATION ONLY! When reserving your Jim Thorpe bike rentals they are ONLY offered as a bundled bike rental AND VIP Shuttle Service from Jim Thorpe to one of the Lehigh Gorge access points, from Glen Onoko to Glen Summit, White Haven or Rockport. (The Jim Thorpe Bike Rentals must be returned by 4:45 PM.) All other bike rentals are out of our White Haven, PA location and must be returned by 5:45 PM Midweek and 7:45 PM on Weekends during summer months. (Ranked as one of the Top 100 in the country) This famous 25-mile bike trail cuts through 4,500 acres of dramatic river gorge forestry along the Lehigh River on a former rail and canal route. Grab your bike and board a shuttle in Jim Thorpe to cycle from White Haven to the southern point in Jim Thorpe, a gorgeous tree-line ride with excellent river views. If you are looking for a shorter, 15-mile experience, pick up the trail in Rockport; or if the longer distance is what you crave then head on up to the new D&L Black Diamond Trail Head in Glen Summit which connects to the Lehigh Gorge State Park just before downtown White Haven, PA. The entire route of the world famous Lehigh Gorge Trail features river views on one side and miles worth of scattered waterfalls on the steep rock face on the other side. This 2-4% grade downhill offers an easy pedaling cadence. Also there is plenty of wildlife within the park including the majestic blue heron, our nation’s symbol the bald eagle, hawks, turkeys, geese and hundreds of other water fowl and bird species, deer, fox and beavers are commonly spotted on the river side. You also might encounter an occasional snake, lizard or later in the day a hungry bear going fishing! For nearly seven miles, the Reading and Northern Railroad parallels the trail. The rail line carries freight and seasonal tourist trains run by the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. We also offer the Jim Thorpe bike train goer a more economical bike rental at just $24.95 per day or $19.95 for kids bikes, then you just pay for the train ride itself and SAVE!
IMPORTANT HINT: Lehigh Gorge Trail users, just about 3 miles before you reach the town of Jim Thorpe, the trail comes to a parking lot and continues on for about a half a mile over a wooden bridge. This is where you follow the trail alongside the main road out to a really cool feature of the trail, this (pic on left) is a converted iron railroad bridge that crosses the Lehigh River! Take a right over the bridge as it leads into downtown Jim Thorpe and take some cool pictures and or head into town. Be sure to come back across it and turn right to get to the VIP Jim Thorpe Bike Shuttle pickup spot at least 15 minutes prior to shuttle time. (The Jim Thorpe Bike Rentals must be returned by 5:00 PM.)

IMPORTANT INFO: We now meet you right inside the Lehigh Gorge State Park at the White Haven South Access Point.
This Lehigh Gorge State Park trail head is .25 mile just past our competitor Pocono Biking, inside the park before the Interstate 80 overpass (pictured above). We will be parked somewhere near by the informational signs and portable bathrooms in a well marked shuttle van with an orange safety cone next to it. All Pocono Bike Rentals and VIP White Haven Bike Shuttle Services MUST BE RESERVED IN ADVANCE! We take reservations at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM for bikes to be picked up in White Haven depending on availability. We may be able to take reservations later in the day at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, however, they are based on if they may conflict with other pre-registered guests. Please be advised; same day reservations must include an additional $5 booking fee PER PERSON.

This video will outline the important rules and guidelines of the Lehigh State Park Rail Trail system. The 6,107 acres of park land follows the Lehigh River from Francis E. Walter Dam, White Haven, PA in the north to Jim Thorpe in the south. The Lehigh Gorge Trail follows over 25 miles of abandoned railroad grade along the river, providing opportunities for hiking, bicycling, sightseeing and photography. The trail is closed to motor vehicles.
